File and associated loose papers and newspaper cuttings concerning the third candidate in the Forest of Dean election, Mr Augustus Dinnick. Concerning firstly a personal letter from Lord Salisbury to his (Salisbury's) cousin which was referred to by Winifred Coombe-Tennant's election agent to refute a publicity statement made by Mr Dinnick. Secondly, papers concerning Dinnick's claim to be the "Conservative Candidate" (as a result of Salisbury's message of good wishes) and Winifred Coombe-Tennant's claim that she retained the backing of both the Forest of Dean Conservative Association and the Central Unionist Party in spite of the dissolution of the Coalition Government. Papers include correspondence between Winifred Coombe-Tennant, Salisbury, Lloyd George, Dinnick, Balfour, John Wood (Winifred Coombe-Tennant's election agent) and E J Pritchard.
