Administrative / Biographical History
Tabernacl was a Welsh Independent chapel situated in Gowerton, Glamorgan. The chapel was built in 1884 and closed in the early 2000s. Its ministers included the Rev. J. Abel, 1928-1950, the Rev. D. Stanley Jones, 1953-1971, and the Rev. Meirion Morris from 1975. In 1979 Tabernacl joined with Bethel, Sketty, under the ministry of the Rev. Huw Ethall. The Chapel secretary for a long period was Dr Ifor Davies (1910-1982), MP for Gower.
