Pantomimes

Administrative / Biographical History

Stan Stennett starred in pantomimes almost all of his career, beginning with his first, 'Little Red Riding Hood' in the Grand Theatre Swansea, 1949. However he is most well known in the pantomime world for his characters, Billy and his furry companion Bonzo. These were first introduced in 1970 when Stan took over the lease of the Grand Pavilion Porthcawl and produced his first Christmas Pantomime under Stan Stennet Productions, 'Billy and Bonzo meet Robin Hood'. The adventures of Billy and Bonzo continued for many years, integrating the two popular characters with the old favourite pantomime favourites, 'Mother Goose' 'Dick Whittington' etc.

Stan also continued to appear in other productions and notably starred in the New Theatre Cardiff in a 5 year consecutive run from 1974-1978.
