The national movement Merched y Wawr and the magazine Y Wawr were started by Zonia Bowen in 1967. Merched y Wawr is a Welsh-speaking society for women, with over 250 local branches, including Cangen Ffynnon Groes (Ffynnon Groes branch), Pembrokeshire.
