Papers of the Allen Family and Cilrhiw Estate

Deeds relating to the Cilrhiw estate in Lampeter Velfrey, Pembrokeshire 1767-1956, and Llanarthne, Carmarthenshire, 1712-1909.

Lancelot Bough Allen (1774-1845), second son of John Bartlett Allen of Cresselly, Pembrokeshire, owned Cilrhiw, Lampeter Velfrey, Pembrokeshire, in 1834. The estate, which also included land in Llanarthne, Carmarthenshire, passed to Lancelot's son, George Bough Allen (1821-1898), whose daughter by his first marriage, Rachel Mary Allen, died unmarried in 1949. The estate passed to her cousin, Bertram Wedgewood Allen. In 1950, Cilrhiw was occupied by Bertram Wedgewood Allen and Gladice Joyce Allen.

Arranged into the following: 18th century documents (D/CIL/1); 19th century documents (D/CIL/2); and 20th centurty documents (D/CIL/3).
