Scope and Content

Patient case files arranged alphabetically from I-J. The dates given reflect the dates of the first and last admission, as the files are arranged alphabetically these dates may be approximate. The entry for each patient contains two sections. The first includes details of their name, age, date of admission, nationality, occupation, civil state, diagnosis, previous medical condition of the patient and relatives, details of education and whether the patient can read or write, relatives address, and an examination of the patient upon admission and includes a medical certificate and facts communicated by others. The second section contains reports on the progress of the patient written at intervals during their stay. Correspondence and notices of death can also be found attached to the case notes.
