Minutes and agenda for meetings of the Finance Committee, as well as notes taken at meetings.

Administrative / Biographical History

This Committee was appointed to manage the funds in relation to the Shakespeare Memorial monument project, to be completed by 1916, pending the establishment of a National Theatre, and for the organisation of festivals and performances to promote Shakespearean drama. The appointment of this Committee was recommended by the Special Committee in a report dated 19/07/1912.

The following were members of the Finance Committee when appointed: Carl Meyer, Mr. Donald, George Bernard Shaw, Mr Hubert Cox, Mr A.E. Balfour and Lady de la Warr.
