Scope and Content

Being the second part of a Lease (D/GG/52) and Release, by Edward Davies, late of Henfryn now of Flint, to William Hall and Richard Barker, both of the City of Chester, of the lands listed in D/GG/52, on trust that the said William Hall and Richard Barker shall convey to the use of Edward Edwards of Cerrig Llwydion co. Denbigh the lands called 'Pen y Palmant' in Ystrad Canon in the parish of Denbigh recently held by John Jones, butcher, and also pieces of land or pasture called 'Gwerglodd Gran' and 'Cae Pen Dre' in the Parish of Denbigh in pursuance of an agreement of 25 October 1788 whereby the said Edward Davies agreed to convey the said hereditaments to Edward Edwards, but neither was the conveyance made nor the consideration paid (the proposed consideration was £1180).

The said William Hall and Richard Barker are to sell the lands which they hold in trust for the best price, free from all charges except an annuity of £84 for John Davies, father of the said Edward Davies, for life and an annuity of £40 for Mary wife of John Davies, for her life if she survives him. The proceeds of the sale of the said lands are to be used by the said Wiliam Hall and Richard Barker to discharge all the costs and expenses of the trust created, to pay Pyers Mostyn of Holywell, Thomas Thomas of Downing co. Flint and Edward Edwards of Cerrig Llwydion co. Denbigh, the money due to them on securities, and to the said Edward Edwards the money which the Trustees feel is due to him. Should there be any remainder it is to go as Edward Davies shall direct.
