      3 ff., manuscript. Autograph manuscript written in a single early eighteenth-century hand, in the form of a bifolium letter with a leaf containing the poem pasted inside. Endorsed with postal directions: 'These to Mr Ralph Palmer, Jnr. at Little Cheltsea, Middlesex'. The paper used for the manuscript has a watermark, probably the Royal Arms.

Scope and Content

Comprises a letter by Buckeridge to Ralph Palmer dated 14 July 1705 enclosing a poem addressed to Antonio Verrio anticipating his decoration of Blenheim Palace following Queen Anne's gift of Woodstock royal hunting park to John Churchill, Duke of Marlborough, in recognition of his military achievements in 1704. It corresponds to Foxon, English Verse, 1701-1750, B555.

Bainbrigg Buckeridge is not otherwise known. Antonio Verrio was a painter who helped to decorate Blenheim Palace.
