      2 ff. Watermark differs from Churchill (1935) Amsterdam arms, 1-71 etc.; supporters two "leopards", three saltires are framed; etc.; countermark IV (Jean Villedary); between these, monogram resembling swash AB (? AR, i.e. Adriaan Rogge, Zaandam paper-mill 1704-1803).

Scope and Content

The second page of the letter includes a transcription of a poem by "Mr Bunce's son" titled "To Mr Higmore a painter", in praise of the painter Joseph Highmore, celebrating his skill and claiming him as artistic heir to Sir Godfrey Kneller
