Reciting Letters Patent dated 13 Jul 1604, granting the cloth customs (a long list of materials) in England and Wales to Thomas Bellott and Roger Houghton who by indenture of the same date assigned them to the Earl of Salisbury who by indenture of 29 Aug 1605, reassigned them to Francis Jones, John Wolstenholme, Barnard Hide and Nicholas Salter of London, merchants, for seven years.
The Earl will also allow £50 per quarter that books may be kept of all customs and increases in rates.
Now (1) assigns to (2) the increases in customs during the said seven years and that (2) shall be his deputies in this.
