Eric Spencer Photograph Collection

Scope and Content

Eric Spencer has been a keen photographer since the 1930s. Apart from early photographs of his period in the RAF most of his photographs were of family and North West England and North Wales. Eric Spencer was born in Manchester 1920. During WWII he joined the RAF, flying in the No. 257 'Burma' Squadron. After the war he gained a BSc in Civil Engineering at Manchester University of Science and Technology, followed by an MSc and Phd. This was followed by a lecturship at UMIST then Sheffield Polytechnic. He retired and moved to Llandudno in the 1980's where he lived until 2008, before moving to Macclesfield.
