GTR was born in south Manchester on 29 April 1881, the son of Frederick Revill (b. 10 Jan 1851) and Alice Rachel Davies. He maried Lilian Hall, who may be one of the two women in the picture. He was a singer and comedian, and owned the Princess Theatre, 74 and 76 Mostyn Street, Llandudno. His son John Revill [known as Jack] attended Lloyd Street School, where he met his future wife Alice (b. 22 Nov 1911).
