Comprises of minutes of the Building Sub Committee, 16 December 1968 - 16 January 1970.

Administrative / Biographical History

The Building Sub Committee was set up by Council in 1968 to undertake the magagement and operation of all matters concerning plans for a new building for the AA in South Kensington, following the proposed merger with Imperial College of Science and Technology. A competition to design the building was launched and reached its second stage before negotiations with Imperial collapsed in February 1970 and the competition was abandoned.

Arrangement

Minutes are arranged chronologically from pages 40 - 60 within the volume. Minutes for the meetings of 18 November 1969 and 16 January 1970 are inserted loose within the volume. The minutes of the Management Committee, 1964-66, the Independance Working Party, 1970, and the Joint Meeting of the Plant Working Party and the Space Working Party, 1971 are also included in the volume.
