Scope and Content

The group contains papers relating to Morris' work within the church as a clergyman, Bishop of Monmouth and Archbishop of Wales. Included in the group are minutes, agenda, reports and correspondence concerning the Governing Body of the Church in Wales and the Representative Body of the Church in Wales, and their various committees; papers relating to ecumenical issues, including Anglican-Methodist negotiations in Wales, and world-wide church unity; papers relating to the World Council of Churches, especially discussions on Anglican and Roman Catholic relations; papers on ethical issues such as divorce and abortion, and political issues such as the Welsh language and Sunday opening in Wales; papers concerning the pastoral work of clergy; material relating to conferences attended by Morris; papers concerning his enthronement services as Bishop of Monmouth and Archbishop of Wales, and general papers collected whilst a clergyman, such as drafts of sermons, correspondence with clergy and orders of service.
