Yorkshire Congregational Union subscriptions

Note

The Yorkshire Congregational Union was formed in 1873 to bring together the congregational churches of the county for mutual support, to aid poorer churches, and to help the church expand. It=s first chairman was James Parsons, former minister of Lendal and Salem. Congregational churches sent representatives, elected by the church meetings, to its annual assemblies and also paid annual subscriptions, collected from the members. For more details on the Union see F. Wrigley, The History of the Congregational Union: A Story of Fifty Years 1873-1923 (London, 1923).
