[Joseph Rowntree] Business Memoranda

This notebook includes extensive notes relating to visits to other factories and visits to York by other manufacturers. This includes a visit to Stollwerck Bros, Cologne, 1885, with illustrations of machinery; notes about Fry's packing methods and wages, 1886; notes about Cadbury's workforce and wage rates, 1889; notes relating to experimental mixings of fruit juices, jellies and essences (at/for Rowntree), 1888-1889; and copy agreements between Cadbury, Rowntree and Fry, concerning advertising and display, November 1889, and concerning showcases, December 1893. The notebook has an index - of firms, some names, ingredients, processes, machinery, and types of product.
