First draft of the novel, written in the author's hand. The draft's ending is slightly different to that of the published version. Also included is a letter dated 15th March 2001 from Sarah Davies (publishing director at Macmillan) with editorial suggestions, and a letter from Jan Mark to Sarah Davies about a suggested rewrite of the last page.
