Small quantity of preliminary and unfinished artwork by Gillian McClure for 'Tog the Ribber'. The file includes two pencil tracings of elements of the final illustration in the book; two rough colour versions of the illustration for page 6, both of which are heavily annotated in McClure's hand with notes on glazes and colours; one colour rough of the illustration for page 8, also annotated with notes on colours; one colour rough of the illustration for page 28; a colour illustration of a skeleton dancing in the moonlight, which may be an early version of the illustration for page 18; and a colour print of the frontispiece illustration, pasted onto a piece of board and marked in pencil with Gillian McClure's initials.
The file also contains a piece of the final illustration for page 30, showing Granny's pillow and her head peering over the bed cover, which was cut out of the illustration prior to publication. Gillian McClure re-painted this piece of the illustration and pasted the new piece into the final illustration - see GMc/01/03/16 for the finished artwork.
