The collection comprises:

  • Signed minutes and agenda papers of the Association. of Past Students 1925-1961 (UN UU 6/1);
  • Index for minutes of the Association of Past Students, 1925-1945 (UN UU 6/2).

Administrative / Biographical History

The University of Nottingham's Association of Past Students was formed at a general meeting ofpast students held in March 1924. The new association held its first annual general meeting in Juneof the following year. Former registered day students were eligible for membership and subscriptionwas payable annually. The first AGM minutes included discussion about: providing loans orscholarships to children of past students who wanted to enter college; seeking affiliation with theOld University Club, London; finding suitable accommodation for the association to meet in; andhaving separate association centres to serve members in different areas of the country. At the firstmeeting, 83 members were in attendance. The association retained its name until at least 1961.
