Accouchement books of Mrs Fagon

Scope and Content

Two ms accouchement books of Mrs Fagon (29 June 1875-5 December 1912), recording the names and addresses of the women she attended during childbirth possibly in East and South East London, also including details of the sex of the infant and the date of confinement, together with details of children born into her family found at the back of both of these volumes.

Mrs Fagon (fl. 1860-1900) practiced as a midwife before registration in East and South East London.
