The correspondence comprises of a letter sent to Apsley Cherry-Garrard during his time in Antarctica as a member of the British Antarctic Expedition, 1910-1913 (leader Robert Falcon Scott). This letter deals with non polar matters, the second letter addressed to Apsley's mother Evelyn deals with the loss of the Pole Party (Scott, Edward Wilson, Henry Bowers, Lawrence Oates and Edgar Evans) in 1912 during their return from the South Pole.
