Letter from Alex Campbell to Robert Owen

Scope and Content

Manuscript letter which refers to a loss suffered by Owen "by his [Owen's] New York agent", with Campbell stating that he is confident "that the Spirits of departed friends as well as those still in this terrestrial sphere will enable you to enjoy - all that is requisite for your simple habits".

Campbell believes that the present time is ideal to try to introduce a Science of Society; the public "now feel it is a practical idea"; a committee should be appointed for this purpose.
