Letter from Amicus to Robert Owen

Scope and Content

Manuscript letter referring to a speech Owen gave at the Crown and Anchor Tavern, [London]. Amicus writes of his admiration for Owen and his "benevolence and self-devotion with which to benefit mankind".

Further thoughts of the social system are offered, and Owen is warned that while Christianity is a "delusion" it is a "useful delusion" to deter mankind from crime.
