In this manuscript letter Rigby provides Owen with an update of the progress he has made with tasks carried out on Owen's behalf. This includes sending Owen a number of newspapers including the Reasoner and some American papers.
Rigby recounts a tale told him by a Dr. Dixon whereby a "poor simple woman" was induced by spirit of some "eminent Physician" to write a prescription.
News of [Thomas] Atkins' Panorama [depicting a model village] follows, with Rigby writing of hearing that a loss of £200 was made at the latest exhibition in Birmingham and that Atkins himself was once again in an "unbalanced" mental state.
The letter closes with discussion the unfortunate circumstances befalling Pierre Baume who, along with being unable to carry out his wish of gifting his estate to Trustees, must also face an upcoming court case; Rigby believes "the greatest enemy he has his himself".
