Letter from William Pare to Robert Owen

Scope and Content

In this manuscript letter Pare tells Owen that he is now the sole proprietor of the Seville Works, Dublin following the termination of the business with his partner G. Finch. This was following the cease of legal proceeding regarding the future of the works in Chancery.

Pare writes of being "much pleased" with is trip to Paris where he saw [M] Goupy, who asked after Owen. Goupy also introduced Pare to a number of his friends, and amongst them was the Baroness de Marenhotlz [-Bülow] who was "deeply interested" in the subject of infant education and with whom he had a "much interesting conversation".
