Letter from L. R. Marsden to Robert Owen

Scope and Content

This manuscript letter opens with Marsden writing of not having received any replies from Owen; this will not stop her from writing further letters.

Marsden writes that all is "comfortable and happy" in Naples, from where she writes, noting in detail the beauty of the area. However, as in recent summers, there had been some "Government excitement" which it was feared could lead to "a revolution" with the anxiety heightened by the debate in England on the affairs of Italy. Marsden does not believe "anything will occur".
