In this manuscript letter James Lowe informs Robert Owen of the death of one of the Salford Co-operative School's "most promising female scholars," who was also a member of the Manchester Association. Lowe recounts that at the funeral the deceased woman's friends wore roses in remembrance, and informs Owen that "our friends" would like to present him with a rose because he has showed such great interest in the school.
