Manuscript letter informing Rigby that he received his letter and has put it before the Committee of Haydock Co-operative Friendly Society. He goes onto tell Rigby that the society has been in operation just over three years and they have steadily progressed. They commenced in grocery and now deal in shoes and drapery. In total they have saved members over £1000 by selling goods at 15% cheaper than they could be bought elsewhere. Smith concludes the letter by enclosing the balance sheet of the society.
