Letter from Robert Owen to James Rigby

Scope and Content

Manuscript letter informing Rigby he has sent him two parcels by omnibus and has written to him about them. Owen says he received Rigby's letter this morning but there is no mention of the parcels which leads Owen to believe there has been some mistake.

Owen goes on to ask Rigby to attend the meeting at John Street on his behalf and reminds Rigby that there is a loan of £700 owed to him by the Rational Society. Owen asks Rigby to learn all that they have to say and to explain Owen's position.
