Letter from Robert Owen to James Rigby

Scope and Content

In this manuscript letter Robert Owen informs James Rigby that he thinks it better that the address and legacy be given to the parties separately for he wishes for them to be read by the statesman and the editors of the journals with the least delay.

He continues to say that the pamphlets no.2 and 3 are estimated to be delivered in a fortnight, according to Mr McGowan. However, as soon as six copies of the no.2 pamphlet are ready, he wishes for Rigby to take them with six more copies of the address and legacy to Lord Henry Brougham and advertise and sell them in advance.
