John Howard Nodal (19 Sep 1831-13 Nov 1909) was born and lived in Manchester.
He was a secretary for the Co-operative League and pushed for a branch to be opened for members in Manchester.
He was predominantly a journalist and editor. As well as being the editor for the Manchester City News from 1871-1904, a paper much favoured by the literary and scientific societies of Lancashire, he also worked with other publications such as the Volunteer Journal (editor from 1860-1862), the Free Lance (editor from 1866-1868) and the Sphinx (1868-1871) as well as others.
