Scope and Content

This file contains a letter to Edward Topham, Editor Co-operative Review, from the Credit Union National Association, Wisconsin, 16 Apr 1958 that accompanied photographs for his use and asking for their return. The first image is a re-print of a portrait of Edward Filene, American Credit Union pioneer. The second shows a credit union barred counter in the Central Consumers Co-operative in Cambridge, Massachusettes. Products are stocked on shelves, visible are own brands and Campbells soup. The third shows members of the St Louis Parish Credit Union queueing up at the counter. The forth is of Filene House, Madison, Wisconsin, the headquarters of the Credit Union National Association [CUNA]. CUNA provided services for 12 million members of the 25,000 credit unions "in the Western Hemisphere". Black and white. Location of subject: Massachusettes, Wisconsin and Missouri.
