Scope and Content

Letter from Stevens expressing his impression of the received books, as "trim" and "prim" and likes them immensely. He expresses an interest in Wolf for future work. With Duncan's reply: an introductory letter to the prints of Gustav Wolf that he is about to post and a note of Wolf's winter whereabouts. He remarks on the outcome of the new Notes as being the result of "simplifying former ideas without enough fresh invention".
