Scope and Content

Papers relating to the installation of the fifth Earl Spencer as Chancellor of Victoria University in 1892, and of Lord Morley of Blackburn as Chancellor of Victoria University of Manchester in 1908.

There are only two items relating to the 1892 ceremony, an "Ode to Music" and an order of proceedings.

Material relating to the 1908 installation includes an order of proceedings, music performed at the ceremony, Justum et tenacem proposit virum by Walter Carroll, addresses, seating plans and a variety of printed material.
