The contents of this file is mostly routine: personnel issues, travel grants, including grants for archaeological work provided by the Scarborough Commission, and inter-library cooperation to develop resources in this subject. Oriental Studies was not strictly a department in its own right, but was an administrative grouping made up of Near Eastern archaeology, Persian Studies, Egyptology and Coptic Studies.
