File: Economies Committee

The Committee was established to identify reductions in expenditure, and removal of waste as a response to declining University income in the early 1930s. The committee was chaired by Sir Ernest Simon, and it worked closely with the Bursar over the identification and implementation of agreed saving. Most of the papers data on salaries and stipends, and running costs of buildings and academic departments.
