- Letter dated 26 Sep 1865, from Edwin Smith to Dr. Beard calling for a 'central organisation' of like minded people in response to letters by Martineau and Clayden in The Inquirer.
- Letter dated 26 Sep 1865, from P. W. Clayden. Mentions Martineau's letter in The Inquirer. Emphasises the need for organisation. Asks if Beard will sign a circular 'calling for a Convention or Convocation of Unsectarian Churches and ministers'.
- Letter dated 18 Oct from Brook Aspland to Beard. Concerns dispute with 'the Martineau party' and reports on the events of a meeting.
- Two letters dated 23 and 25 Feb 1865. From John Robberds, one declining 'the office in question' and the other declaring that he was not a Visitor for the HMB as stated in the Report.
