Particularly important due to a legal battle over whether women should be entitled to enter the freedom via apprenticeship. Asks Tait's opinion if a proven historical connection to London would help to win the case and about the effect of the woman's marital status. Notes at the bottom of each page.
79/2 14 Feb 1939, asks Tait if he would be able to give evidence in court on his dating of Earl Ranulf's charter to the burgesses of Coventry to 1200-1208. Also states that his thesis on the honor of Leicester, as examined by Tait, was to be published in the English Historical Review.
