Scope and Content

From Bristol to Jabez Bunting at 16 Canterbury Place, Lambeth, London. He is enclosing theletters that he last received from Ceylon. Bunting will see that [Benjamin] Clough... was in a poorstate of health and had received only one letter from his brother in England. The same was the casewith the other missionaries.

There is also a hint in the letter that there is reason to believe that some of theircorrespondence has been opened and destroyed. Should this be made known to the general post office?Barber will write to [Joseph] Entwisle on the subject of the missionary meeting that will take placein a few days. Bunting should rest assured that he [Bunting] will not evade their invitation forever. Barber thinks that if they can get 'Father' [Joseph] Benson then he should take the chair.

Barber shall expect Bunting and his wife to stay at his house.

They shall try to have their meeting on either the 13th or 27th of the May. Barber has proposedthe 27th to Mr Taylor but has not received a reply.
