Scope and Content

MRI Old Residents' Club was a club for reunions of previous residents at MRI, founded by E.B. Leech in 1908 when MRI moved from Piccadilly to its current Oxford Road site. Platt joined in 1909 when he was house surgeon at MRI and was president of the Club in 1958. This file includes programmes for the reunions in 1958, 1973, 1976 and 1982. The programmes list past presidents, current members and give a menu and list of toasts for the dinner. The 1958 programme includes a manuscript speech notes for Platt's Presidential address. The file also includes correspondence with Ian Isherwood, honorary secretary of the club, about honorary alumni and about funds for the deficit of the Club, 1979-1980.
