Financial Records

Scope and Content

Financial policy was originally the responsibility of the College Trustees, but was transferred to the Court of Governors and Council in 1870/1. The College Treasurer (a post created in 1870) oversaw financial policy, and chaired meetings of Council. Financial administration was largely the responsibility of the College Registrar until 1895, when the office of Bursar was created. This series contains an incomplete set of the accounts and financial statements submitted to the Trustees, plus an account book from the 1890s.
