Scope and Content

The tabs at the top of the pages indicate that the following genera are covered: phascum, grimmia, pterogonium, weissia, dicranum, trichostomum, didymodon, funaria, orthotricum, bartramia, hypnum, bryum, and jungermannia. Further inspection suggests that these tabs are not exhaustive.

The final specimens in the volume have handwritten captions instead of the printed ones found up to now, and the specimens seem to be broader than just moss and hepaticae covered so far. It is not clear who the handwritten captions have been composed by or indeed who has compiled the volume itself as contemporary sources seems to suggest that Hobson never completed a third volume.
