Warrington graduated from the University of Manchester in 1942. In 1947 he joined the Christie Hospital, Manchester. He received the DMRT in 1949, and was made a Fellow of the Faculty of Radiologists in 1952. In the same year he was made a consultant radiotherapist at Christie and in 1963 he was appointed deputy Director. He worked on ovarian and thyroid cancer. Warrington died on 27 September 1964, aged 46.
