MB ChB Manch 1911.

May gained her medical education at the University of Manchester, where she was vice-president of the Medical Students' Representative Council in 1906-1907. May was resident medical officer to Rochdale Municipal Maternity and Infants Hospital. In 1915, she was senior surgeon to the 3rd Serbian Relief Fund Unit and from 1916 to 1917 was medical administrator to the Millicent Fawcett Hospitals in Russia. May was later assistant medical officer for maternity and child welfare for Manchester. She was a member of MMS.
