BSc (Physics) Manch 1914, MSc 1922.

Lupton was a physics graduate and worked with radium at the University of Manchester and MRI. In 1919, Lupton entered the Medical School, where Professor A.V. Hill suggested that he should use his skills for an investigation into muscular exercise. Lupton was a tutor at Dalton Ellis Hall, and many of the students living there were subjects in his experiments. In 1922 Lupton moved to London to continue his work with Hill. Lupton became ill in June 1922 and died on 6 September 1924.
