MB ChB Aberdeen 1907, ChM 1911.

Sturm gained his medical education in Manchester and at Aberdeen University, where he was prosector in anatomy. He was clinical assistant to Central London Throat and Ear Hospital before going to Leigh, Lancashire. Sturm was honorary otologist to Leigh Infirmary and was consultant surgeon to Leigh Maternity and Child Welfare and School Medical Service. He was a fellow of the Royal Society of Medicine and of the British Oto-Laryngological Society.
