MB ChB Manch 1921, DPH 1927; MRCP Lond 1928.

After qualifying, Fisher held junior appointments in Manchester at Withington Hospital, Monsall Fever Hospital and MRI. In 1924 he was appointed medical officer for the out-patients department of Royal Manchester Children's Hospital. Fisher worked with children for most of his life. In 1930 he was appointed to the honorary staff of the Royal Manchester Children's Hospital where he later became consultant paediatrician. In 1934 Fisher was appointed clinical demonstrator in diseases of children at the University of Manchester. He was also physician for children at Manchester Northern Hospital and honorary consulting physician for diseases of children at Warrington Infirmary. Fisher was a member of Manchester Medical Society . In 1966 Fisher retired and concentrated on his role as School Doctor for Manchester Grammar School, a position which he held from 1947 until 1975.
