Scope and Content

From J. B. Walker to H. Ling Roth offers to send further material. He considers that Mr Cotton is a reliable contact. Believes that Ratzel's mistakes are "rather serious" [not identified]. Queries the Franks collection of portraits at the British Museum, and wonders where the original water colours by Bock can be found [Thomas Bock 1790-1855, was an artist and engraver; Roth had copies made of the some water colours to use in his book]. Walker says he believes the Bass Strait islanders are of mixed Tasmanian, mainland Aboriginal and Maori descent.
