This sub-series comprises 1918 correspondence between Charles Prestwich Scott (1846-1932), editor and proprietor of the Manchester Guardian, and contemporary politicians and writers including the journalist James Bone, the playwright and polemicist George Bernard Shaw, and the politician Philip Kerr, Marquess of Lothian. Topics covered include the Japanese Siberian intervention, peace negotiations across Europe, and one post-war letter (dated 1921) discussing popular rumour in Europe.
